"...I recently interviewed Dr. Jeff leighton, lead scientist for Stronger, Faster, Healthier, who developed a new line of endurance products containing coconut oil. According to Dr. Leighton, the unique fat in coconut oil helps to prevent depletion of glycogen, which are carbohydrates stored as energy in muscle, giving the athlete the ability to perform at a higher rate for a longer duration.
Dr. Leighton also pointed out that one molecule of fat produced five to ten times more energy than sugar, and emphasized the importance of consuming fats that are digested quickly, like those found in coconut oil.
