Position summary:

The Outside Sales Representative will help our growing business to increase sales in our MidWest United States (Minneapolis, MN) territory. The Outside Sales Representative position is a salary + bonus position with benefits. In this position, you would have the opportunity to develop your own sales territory by maintaining relationships with current customers and bringing in new ones to drive business. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing contact with existing customers, identifying new opportunities, and following up on potential leads. You will be an ambassador of our company/brand, becoming a trusted face to our customers while also adhering to company values and policy. The Sales Representative will also monitor industry trends in order to identify emerging markets and develop plans to utilize those markets to expand revenue. As a member of our team, you will use your strong interpersonal skills to provide service and support to your customers as needed, which may include coordinating with other departments.

Position Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Create and implement a sales strategy that makes sure you meet personal sales goals, as well as those set-in place by the company
  • Communicate with all current and potential customers on a regular basis, providing solutions as needed, and oversee all sales activity in your assigned sales territory
  • Frequent travel to customer locations and events within the territory, 50% minimum travel
  • Utilize all available resources to reach out to prospects and attempt to turn those prospects into customers
  • Coordinate with other members of the sales team and team leaders as needed to generate sales and provide excellent customer service
  • Submit reports on your sales activity regularly into the company’s CRM software (SalesForce), and maintain clean and updated records for all leads and customers
  • Adhere to all company procedures, values and policies so that you provide an accurate representation of the company to all potential and current customers
  • Stay on top of industry trends to identify potential opportunities for company growth
  • Perform your duties as efficiently as possible, reducing costs when possible, and maintain receipts for all job-related expenses and submit them to accounting
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of sales experience, must have outside sales
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50 percent of the time
  • Strong computer skills and understanding of spreadsheet software and SalesForce
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Non-smoker
  • Able to lift, push and pull up to 25lb packages
  • Able to sit at desk/car 8+ hours per day
