Position summary:

The Sanitation Associate maintains environmental and sanitation control standards within established policies and procedures created by the Quality Control Unit (QC). The position performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain GMP areas, hallways, and other assigned areas of the facility. This person works with the other sanitation employees in following appropriate practices for meeting cleaning standards and material handling. The position follows standard practices and procedures and complies with FDA regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with cleaning team under the guidance of the Sanitation Lead to make certain all tasks are complete and meet standards stated below
  • Cleans GMP areas, equipment, floors, walls, and ceilings in accordance with FDA standards as outlined by QC Unit documentation
  • Wears required captive clothing and complies with Personal Practices Training while in production rooms
  • Operates mechanical cleaners, vacuums, steam cleaners, and related equipment
  • Cleans rooms, halls and other general areas
  • Cleans and sanitizes all surfaces in bathrooms daily
  • Cleans vents, fan fixtures, doorframes and other high areas using a ladder in needed
  • Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials using specified bags or containers
  • Moves production equipment and other heavy objects as required
  • Keeps records documenting cleaning performed

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with team
  • 5.2 High School Diploma or GED
  • 5.3 3-5 years of practical experience
  • 5.4 Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions

  • Non-smoker
  • Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lb. packages (if pertains to position)
  • Able to be on feet for up to 8 hours or more
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing
