Clean Eating Tips

Everyone is always so busy. Between work and fitting in your workouts, you may not even have time to think about your eating habits, but you could be sabotaging your workout without even meaning to if you’re not careful about what you’re putting in your body. Our clean eating tips will help you make small changes that will offer a large impact on your life.

Eat more fruits and vegetables

This is a bit of a no-brainer for many people, but it can be so difficult to squeeze those into your diet, especially when you’re rushing around, trying to get everything done and don’t take adequate time to prepare a healthy meal. Unfortunately, while it may taste good, those fast food meals don’t offer your body the proper nutrition it needs to build muscle. Each Sunday, prepare a big crockpot of vegetables and put them in bowls for the next couple of days, that way you’re getting a large serving of veggies each day. Slice up fruit at the same time, and put together large bowls of mixed fruit. These make a great breakfast on the go or a healthy afternoon snack. Another easy way to add more fruits and vegetables to your diet is by making smoothies each morning. Use frozen fruits, add in spinach, kale, and some other superfoods, avocado is great, and for the final touch, add one of our whey protein powders. You’ll have plenty of energy throughout the day to tackle that to-do list.

Skip the over-processed foods

It may take a little bit more work on your end to prepare healthy meals on your own, but it is so worth it. You’ll find that you have more energy throughout the day, and you’ll notice the difference in your body. If you really don’t have time to make it at home, you can purchase healthy non-processed foods at the grocery store, just make sure to read the labels. Look for items that are fresh, that don’t have expiration dates a year from now, and that don’t have any artificial flavors or colorings.

Cut down your sugar

You may be surprised at what foods have hidden sugar in them like red pasta sauce. Limit sweets like cookies, candy, and soda, but also be sure to read the labels in your other foods. Added sugar is lurking, and one of the best ways to remove it is to make things on your own using fresh ingredients and ensuring that none of those additives are in there.

Cut down your sodium

Again, this gets added into so many foods that we don’t even notice it anymore. Make sure you aren’t adding salt to any prepackaged foods, and use herbs and spices instead of salt when you are flavoring different dishes as you prepare them. Use it sparingly or switch to sea salt or kosher salt, as it’s less sodium than table salt.

We know that clean eating isn’t always the easiest, especially when you’re juggling a million things to do. Just make sure that you make time for your health in there too. It’s important to take care of your body to keep it safe from illnesses and keep you running as much as you need to. Even trying one or two clean eating tips to start will make a large impact on your diet and lifestyle.
